Another weekend, another vacay. In order to relax a few more days, I decided to visit the Lake Iseo for a long weekend. Have you ever been there? I resided at the charming Hotel Rivalago in Sulzano. Sulzano is a small town in the province of Brescia, located on the Eastern shore of Lake Iseo. It is a wonderful tourist destination and an ideal starting point for excursions to Monte Isola or along the surrounding paths and trails.
The Rivalago is the perfect destination for a relaxing weekend trip. The hotel has recently been renovated and has 28 rooms, 4 Panorama Junior Suites with private solarium, all tastefully and comfortably furnished. You have the decision wether to chill at the pool with a great sea view or to lay directly by the lake on the hotel’s private beach. The third possibility is, to have an aperitif in the outdoor jacuzzi while enjoying the panoramic view – especially during the fascinating sunset. Due to it’s charismatic flair and the quiet place, Hotel Rivalago is also recommended as an exquisite location to celebrate weddings.
The most important thing for me when I’m on holiday is always the breakfast. Sounds crazy, but I am obsessed with special and unforgettable breakfasts. Even this time, I was stunned by the richness of the hotel’s buffet. And on top, while having our morning coffee in the charming garden of Rivalago, we were blessed with the best view overlooking the Lake Iseo and also having a look at Monte Isola, a beautiful island in the middle of the lake. By the way, it can be reached by a small boat from Iseo and it’s really worth an excursion. In case you prefer to spend one day at the pool or don´t want to leave the hotel area, the Rivalago cuisine offers also some delicious Italian snacks, such as fresh and creamy burrata or different piadine and panini – oh yummie…
During our stay we also visited Paratico town and the city of Iseo which are more touristic and therefore also a bit more animate, and only 10 to 20 minutes away from Sulzano. How to spend the evenings there? A long walk across the “lungo lago” while listening to Italian music, a real Italian pizza or spaghetti allo scoglio and a gelato afterwards – this is all we need while in Bella Italia, right? Well, a little shopping also included of course…
